JHH named to international list of most ethical organizations
The Ethisphere Institute, a New York-based think tank established to advance best practices in business ethics and corporate social responsibility, has named The Johns Hopkins Hospital to its 2009 list of the business world’s most ethical companies and institutions. Others on this list include Patagonia, Toyota Motors, Dell, General Electric, General Mills, Cleveland Clinic, Marriott International, Safeway, Target, Time Warner, IKEA, Starbucks and UPS.
JHH was one of 99 organizations selected from among hundreds of nominees in more than 100 countries and 35 industries. Criteria for selection include corporate citizenship and responsibility, corporate governance, innovation that contributes to public well-being, industry leadership, executive leadership, legal and regulatory performance, and solid ethics compliance programs.
