Bloomberg School hosts Pacific Rim public health leaders
The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health recently hosted the third annual Public Health Workshop for the Association of the Pacific Rim Universities World Institute, or AWI. The event featured more than 40 public health leaders from around the Pacific Rim who participated in a series of lectures and discussions tailored to address the theme “Forging Public Health Partnerships in Response to the Global Economic Crisis.”
Established in 1997, the association is a network of 42 leading research universities in the Pacific Rim that promotes economic, scientific and cultural advancement. The AWI was established in 2006 as a forum in which leading researchers, policy advisers and business executives from that association could address issues of regional and global concern.
