Lincoln Gordon memorial service set for March 27

Lincoln Gordon, who served as president of The Johns Hopkins University from July 1967 to March 1971 and brought co-education to the Homewood campus, will be remembered at a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, at the Cosmos Club in Washington, D.C.

Gordon previously served as a diplomat under Presidents Kennedy and Johnson and was for 25 years on the faculty of Harvard. After leaving Johns Hopkins, he was a scholar at the Brookings Institution.

At the time of his death, on Dec. 19, 2009, he was living in Mitchellville, Md. He was 96.
