JHH is named one of world’s most ethical organizations

The Ethisphere Institute, a New York–based think tank established to advance best practices in business ethics and corporate social responsibility, has named The Johns Hopkins Hospital to its 2010 list of the world’s most ethical companies and institutions.

JHH was one of 100 organizations selected from among hundreds of nominees representing 33 industries. Criteria for selection include corporate citizenship and responsibility, corporate governance, innovation that contributes to public well-being, industry leadership, executive leadership, legal and regulatory performance, and solid ethics compliance programs.

Others on this year’s list include Google, Xerox, General Electric, Mattel, Texas Instruments, Cleveland Clinic, General Mills, Hospital Corporation of America, Target, Time Warner, IKEA and Starbucks.

Ethisphere Magazine, which publishes the World’s Most Ethical Companies ranking, is the quarterly publication of the institute.
