New multidisciplinary GI research center planned
The Johns Hopkins Center for Epithelial Disorders has received a five-year $1.2 million grant from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases to establish the multidisciplinary Silvio O. Conte Digestive Disease Research Core Center at Johns Hopkins. The new center, one of 19 created this
year, will provide resources for 50 gastrointestinal-related researchers to further their inquiries into proteomics, advanced imaging, mouse physiology and translational research.
Mark Donowitz, professor of medicine and director of the Center for Epithelial Disorders, will be the principal investigator in the new center.
