School of Nursing receives DNP program accreditation

The Board of Commissioners for the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education has granted accreditation to the School of Nursing’s Doctor of Nursing Practice Program, extending through June 30, 2015. The accreditation is effective as of Oct. 19, 2009, which was the first day of the CCNE on-site evaluation of the school.

The board determined that the program met all four accreditation standards and determined that there were no compliance concerns with respect to key elements.

The practice-focused Doctor of Nursing Practice program prepares expert nurse clinicians, administrators and executive leaders to improve health and health care outcomes through evidence-based practice in diverse clinical, health care and academic settings.
