‘Changing Face of American Poverty’ is topic of discussion
The Johns Hopkins University Center for Social Concern and Tribe Inc. will present a panel discussion titled “The Changing Face of American Poverty” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, in Homewood’s Glass Pavilion.
Amid the greatest economic recession in decades, the panelists will address the philosophical and political divide between market solutions and government intervention, while seeking tangible solutions to the precipitous decline of the American middle class.
The panelists will be Donald Williams of Bread for the World, Adam Schneider of Health Care for the Homeless and Jason Hartling, principal at Northwestern High School in Park Heights, who will also represent Teach for America.
