Mystery writer Laura Lippman to speak at Barnes & Noble

Baltimore mystery writer Laura Lippman, who has won every major award given to U.S. crime writings, will discuss and sign copies of her latest book, The Most Dangerous Thing, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Barnes & Noble Johns Hopkins.

Since her first novel, Baltimore Blues, was published in 1997, Lippman has had a steady stream of successes that includes 10 other books in the Tess Monaghan series; short stories; and five previous novels, including I’d Know You Anywhere and What the Dead Know.

The latest book from the former Baltimore Sun reporter, described as a “superbly unsettling tale of the consequences of long-buried secrets,” shifts from present to past as it follows five former friends who separated after a violent encounter in the woods.
