Undersec of state to discuss Open Government Partnership

Maria Otero, undersecretary of state for civilian security, democracy and human rights, will speak at SAIS at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, about “The Open Government Partnership: A Progress Report.”

Otero, a SAIS graduate, has taken a leading role at the State Department in launching and steering the OGP, a new multilateral initiative that aims to secure concrete commitments from governments to promote transparency and civic engagement.

The event will be held in room 500 of the Bernstein-Offit Building. Non-SAIS affiliates should RSVP to the SAIS International Development Program at
