Head of U.K. Financial Services Authority to speak at SAIS
Adair Turner, chairman of the U.K. Financial Services Authority, will give the annual Rostov Lecture on International Affairs at SAIS at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 19. Turner has overseen the FSA, the regulator of the financial service industry in the U.K., since 2008. He will speak about “Shadow Banking, Prudential Risk and Social Value.” The event will be held in the Nitze Building’s Kenney Auditorium. Non-SAIS affiliates should RSVP to email@example.com. A webcast will be available at sais-jhu.edu/pressroom/live.html.
The lecture honors the memory of alumnus Charles Rostov, the former chairman of Trans-Ocean, who was a longtime supporter of the university’s efforts to improve understanding of countries around the world and to build stronger relationships with those nations.
